Important information about booking, payments, cancellations, and your safari experience.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking your safari with Wild Planet Safari.

Important Notice

By making a booking with Wild Planet Safari, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms form the basis of your contract with Wild Planet Safari.

1. Introduction

Wild Planet Safari ("we," "our," or "us") operates safari tours and travel services in East Africa. These Terms and Conditions govern your relationship with Wild Planet Safari regarding the booking and provision of safari services.

These terms apply to all bookings made through our website, via email, telephone, or through any authorized agent. By making a booking, you accept these terms on behalf of all persons named in the booking.

2. Booking Terms

2.1 Booking Process

  • All bookings require a completed booking form and deposit payment
  • Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of deposit and written confirmation from us
  • You must provide accurate passenger information including full names, dates of birth, and passport details
  • We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion

2.2 Deposit Requirements

Standard Bookings

30% of total package price

Gorilla Trekking

50% of total package price

2.3 Special Requirements

Any special requirements (dietary, medical, mobility) must be disclosed at the time of booking. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special requirements, we cannot guarantee availability of all requested services.

3. Payments

3.1 Payment Schedule

Deposit Due at booking
Balance Payment 60 days before departure
Last-minute Bookings Full payment required

3.2 Accepted Payment Methods

Bank Transfer Credit Card M-Pesa PayPal

Note: All bank charges and transaction fees are the responsibility of the client. Payments must be made in US Dollars or equivalent local currency at the prevailing exchange rate.

3.3 Price Changes

We reserve the right to adjust prices in case of changes in government taxes, park fees, fuel prices, or exchange rates. You will be notified of any price increases at least 60 days before departure.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

4.1 Client Cancellations

4.2 Special Cancellation Policies

Airline Tickets Subject to airline policy
Peak Season Bookings Stricter cancellation terms apply

Important: Cancellation fees are calculated based on the total package price. No refunds will be made for unused services or early departure from the safari.

5. Client Responsibilities

5.1 Travel Documents

You are responsible for ensuring you have valid travel documents including:

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates
  • Required visas for all countries visited
  • Vaccination certificates (Yellow Fever, COVID-19 if required)
  • Travel insurance documents

5.2 Health Requirements

You must ensure you are medically fit to undertake the safari activities. Some destinations may require specific vaccinations or health precautions.

5.3 Behavior

You must comply with all local laws and regulations. We reserve the right to terminate your safari without refund if your behavior is deemed to endanger safety, disrupt the enjoyment of others, or violate local laws.

6. Health & Safety

6.1 Wildlife Safety

Our safaris involve close proximity to wild animals. You must follow all safety instructions provided by our guides. We are not responsible for injuries resulting from failure to follow safety guidelines.

6.2 Medical Facilities

Some safari destinations have limited medical facilities. You should carry any necessary prescription medications and inform us of any medical conditions before travel.

6.3 Emergency Evacuation

In remote areas, emergency medical evacuation may be necessary and can be expensive. This cost is not included in our safari packages and should be covered by your travel insurance.

7. Travel Insurance

Mandatory Requirement

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients. Your insurance must cover medical expenses, personal accident, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and loss of personal items.

You must provide proof of adequate travel insurance before departure. We are not liable for any costs incurred due to inadequate insurance coverage.

8. Liability

8.1 Our Liability

Wild Planet Safari acts as an agent for various service providers (hotels, airlines, etc.). We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury caused by these third-party providers.

8.2 Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters and adverse weather conditions
  • Political unrest, terrorism, or civil disturbance
  • Government travel advisories or restrictions
  • Pandemics or health emergencies
  • Transportation disruptions

8.3 Limitation of Liability

Our maximum liability to you for any claim relating to your safari shall not exceed the total amount paid for the safari package.

9. Disputes & Governing Law

9.1 Complaints

Any complaints during your safari must be reported immediately to your guide or our office to allow us the opportunity to resolve the issue. Complaints received after completion of the safari may not be considered.

9.2 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.

9.3 Arbitration

Any dispute arising from these terms shall first be submitted to mediation. If mediation fails, the dispute shall be referred to arbitration in Nairobi, Kenya.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Note: The terms applicable to your booking are those in effect at the time of booking confirmation.
